This expertise, honed at major and junior mining companies such as Hecla Mining, Barrick Gold, Freeport-McMoRan, and Coeur Mining, encompasses the full spectrum of the mining lifecycle – from grassroots discovery and resource delineation through to project financing, mine construction, and profitable operations. This depth of knowledge ensures that our strategic decisions are well-informed, our operational plans are robust, and our commitment to shareholder value is unwavering.

Eric T. Jones (President, CEO, Director):

With over 30 years in mining and finance, Mr. Jones has been a guiding force in Thunder Mountain Gold’s executive management since 2007. His extensive background includes pivotal roles such as General Manager of the Stibnite Mine for Dakota Mining Corporation and various operational and engineering positions at Hecla Mining Company. He holds a B.S. in Geological Engineering from the University of Idaho and has completed core engineering studies at the Colorado School of Mines.

Ron Espell (Chief Operating Officer)

Brings over 30 years of experience in environmental management, permitting, and mine development. He has held senior leadership positions at several major mining companies, including Barrick Gold, McEwen Mining, and Nevada Vanadium. With a strong background in regulatory compliance, environmental stewardship, and strategic mine planning, Mr. Espell has been instrumental in securing permits and advancing projects across North America and globally. As COO, he will oversee all operational aspects of Thunder Mountain Gold, ensuring the Company remains on track for efficient and responsible project execution.

Rocky Chase (V.P. of Operations)

Joins Thunder Mountain Gold as Vice President of Operations, bringing more than 38 years of experience in mine development, operations, and permitting. He has managed exploration and production projects across North America, with a strong focus on regulatory affairs, mine engineering, and environmental compliance. Mr. Chase most recently served as Project Manager at South Mountain Mines, where he successfully led underground core drilling and exploration efforts. In his new role, he will spearhead the operational execution of Thunder Mountain’s projects, optimizing development strategies and ensuring regulatory alignment.

E. James Collord (Director)

Mr. Collord brings 35 years of multifaceted experience in the Nevada minerals industry, covering environmental permitting, open-pit operations, mine construction, reclamation, and exploration. His notable career includes roles as Environmental and Land Superintendent for Cortez Gold Mines and Mine Superintendent at the Big Springs and Jerritt Canyon gold mines. He earned his M.S. in Geology from the Mackay School of Mines, University of Nevada, Reno, and has been an officer of Thunder Mountain Gold since 1978.
